So I've been steadily compiling an XMFC playlist, as one does when one is in a fandom, and IDK, I got bored and decided to share it with you, the journaling public. I think of this as an Erik playlist, but it's equally a Charles playlist, and also kind of a Raven playlist in places.
1. The Real Tuesday Weld - It's a Dirty Job But Somebody's Got To Do It (YouTube)
You fall. You don't rise again. The end.
2. Tom Waits - Flash Pan Hunter (YouTube)
Each sulfurous bullet way have it's own wit
And each cartridge comes with a warning
(Context, for the really depressing part. Yeah.)
3. Paul Simon - Can I Forgive Him (Demo) (MediaFire, idgaf)
But I think you’d would have to be Jesus on the cross
To understand the shame of loss
4. Massive Attack - Flat of the Blade (YouTube)
Take it
They give it
And rivet for rivet
I will build for my family a bulletproof love
5. Spoon - Everything Hits at Once (Everything Hits At Once)
There is no way back from this
6. Everclear - Summerland (YouTube)
I think I lost my smile
I think you lost yours too
We have lost the power to make each other laugh
(For sparkle and fade Charles and Erik, the saddest of Charles and Eriks)
7. Dave Mason - We Just Disagree (YouTube)
There's only you and me, and we just disagree
8. BlackHawk - Goodbye Says It All (YouTube)
No long explanation
No reconciliation
9. Paul Simon - She Moves On (YouTube)
When the road bends
And the song ends
She moves on
10. Snow Patrol feat. Martha Wainwright - Set The Fire To The Third Bar (YouTube)
I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms
Bonus Round, because it's totally appropriate but a musical 180:
Cherry Poppin' Daddies - No Mercy For Swine (YouTube)
Is the way to get over someone
Just to get under someone else?
