Anecdote time: When I was in field school, most of us took our chloroquine on Sunday nights, so that we wouldn't be messed up while we were working or out at the club or anything.
Unfortunately, we also had lectures on Sunday nights. And I can remember in particular one time where I accidentally took mine before lecture, rather than after it. And I have no idea what it was about, but I remember that everything was HILARIOUS, because there were like six of us just tripping balls and trying to talk intelligently about, idk, ceramic chronologies or something.

So I assume that whatever sort of attack happened while they were all high, it would be really, really funny.
(And I think they're probably fine, as far as resistance goes? I mean, it took something like 30 years for Plasmodium f. to develop resistance on Earth.)
