On an editorial note, since I won't be getting Apollo Justice until Friday or later, I'll most likely be extending my countdown to the 19th in lieu of just skipping a day. That is, unless I catch a wild hair and just go to town on 3-5. Who knows?

Another short case, but with so much depth packed in such a little space. The glimpses you get of Phoenix are terribly intriguing- it's something to sort of bug you in the back of your mind as you play the case.

It's amazing how much young Miles's character design says about him. He's still too small for that huge brocaded coat, most of his gestures are copied straight from Von Karma, and he's so smug you just want to smack him. His courtroom-movement-lines-eye-sex pose (you know the one) looks a whole hell of a lot like VK's too. It's really a credit to the design team that they can say so much in a relatively subtle manner.

Finally, we get a nice long backstory on the official villain of Trials and Tribulations, Dahlia fucking Hawthorne. And isn't she an evil little bitch? And how about that sister of hers? I'm so in love with Terry Fawles, though, his apparent love of the lolis notwithstanding. I just want to hug him and squeeze him and call him George. He kind of makes me want to cry.

Here's a question that arose from the faq I've been using: Did Terry commit suicide? I never actually considered the possibility until the faq mentioned it, because I don't think he's got the intelligence to actually make that decision for himself. I always assumed that Dahlia didn't tell him that the bottle was poison. I can't see her saying, "If you fail me, kill yourself." It's way, way too clean for her.

Also, yet another question: Were Diego and Mia actually dating? Grossberg refers to him as "[her] boyfriend", but it certainly doesn't seem like it from this case, and Diego kicked it very, very shortly afterwards.

Without a case like this one, Trials and Tribulations would still be a good game. But with it, it's an awesome one.

I like Terry Fawles a lot too. I did think he committed suicide, because even though he was pretty thick he had to realize what was in the bottle and why she would have told him to drink it in that situation. But I could be wrong.

And I noticed that about Miles being so much like Von Karma. (It was kind of sexy.)
