1. [livejournal.com profile] lavvyan, [livejournal.com profile] taste_is_sweet, [livejournal.com profile] seekergeek, [livejournal.com profile] elementalv, [livejournal.com profile] almostnever, and I have sort of accidentally on purpose created a monster. I mean, there are already over a hundred people following the comm, and I haven't even put the ad up on [livejournal.com profile] sga_noticeboard yet. Saints on a speedboat.

1a. I had every intention of finishing out Hate on Rodney Week, but then [livejournal.com profile] taste_is_sweet had to come along and make me feel really, really sorry for him. So now I kind of love Rodney again, which was really the whole point of the week to begin with.

I'm still totally a John girl, though.

2. Since I joined the dark side SGA fandom, I feel like I've spent a disproportionate amount of time wandering around in a daze going "WHERE DID ALL THESE PEOPLE COME FROM AND WHY DO THEY LIKE ME".

3. I have not started writing for [livejournal.com profile] thelittlebang, woe! But! I have a plan! And a title! And a truly ridiculous blurb!

4. First Nahuatl test in the morning AAAAAH. Time for sleep.
sabinelagrande: (sga - beckett confuses ford)
It has been stated lately that Rodney is the only reason to watch SGA; this notion is patently false. To combat it, I present to you:

Ten Reasons to Watch Stargate Atlantis (That Have Nothing To Do With Rodney McKay)

sabinelagrande: (sga - this is rodney's sleepy face)
Title: I have known the eyes already
Summary: "This is the worst thing," he says, breaking off to catch her lips with his again, "that has ever happened to me."
Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis/Stargate SG-1
Word Count: 805
Rating/Warnings: NC-17, AU (...canon AU?), sadface
Pairing: Carter/Rodney (the alternate version from SG-1 10.13 "The Road Not Taken")
A/N: Here on Hate on Rodney Week, it is permissible to love on alternate Rodney, because he evinces so many unRodneylike characteristics, and also he is generally much less of a dick. Also I think we all know I stole the title from TS Eliot, cause that's just kinda how I roll sometimes.

sabinelagrande: (sga - i've got it)
You know what pairing gets me every time? Ronon/Radek. There's just something about it, y'know? It has everything I like about Ronon/Rodney (Ronon) and nothing I don't (Rodney). And so, I have for you these recs:

Quick Study by [livejournal.com profile] helens78 (PG, 1530 words): Ronon decides to learn science and goes to Radek for help. I just love both of them in this. Ronon is clever and unsure of himself and generally a badass. For some reason, he feels really young in this story, in a really good and sweet way. Both the friendship and the slash are nuanced and lovely.

Peace Unexpected by chelle (NC-17, 2045 words): Radek is all, "Sigh, hot giant in leather pants" and Ronon is all "Fuckin': we should do some" and Radek is all "...ano" and then they dun sex. Completely direct and totally unashamed Ronon is the best of all possible Ronons.

Science, Like Nature, Must Also Be Tamed by [livejournal.com profile] cinaed (PG, 3785 words): Ronon, Radek, chess, and UST. Observant Ronon is observant, and precious Radek is precious. The story is from Ronon's point of view, and it is spot on. Also Teyla, though she is not in the fic for very long, is fucking awesome. If you like Zelenka, you should pretty much just read all her fic. Go on. I'll be here when you get back.

Salutation to the Dawn by Deirdre (NC-17, 26363 words): A beautiful story about loss and longing by one of my favorite writers. Also contains past Radek/Grodin, because EVERYTHING is better with Grodin. God, I love this story. I want to keep it in my pocket so that I can pull it out and pet it at intervals. Much of it takes place in the Pegasus Galaxy's answer to Japan; the story in general has an oddly Japanese-feeling sensibility, because of its alternation of really vivid, lush description with relatively spare passages. Also, it also gets mad bonus points for using the phrase "built like a brick shithouse", which may be my favorite colloquialism ever.

Go forth! Enjoy tiny genius on badass giant action!
