So. I wracked my brain trying to find something to do with leather, and came up with little. Then I desperately mined the Joann's, and came up empty handed. But then an epiphany! Leather cord! But what can I do with it?

Bondage! You knew it was coming. )

*Mostly because there's a mixture of fur and feathers in this picspam, and due to the quality of the photos and lighting, I can't always determine which one. I also apologize in advance that not all the images have alt text; this is because, except where noted, they are all pictures of Mae West wearing fur. Fill that in.

So today for Kink Bingo, I'd like to talk to you about this bad bitch. Who could it be but Mae? Besides Tallulah. )

There's all this exciting stuff going on that I kind of can't talk about. I can tell you, however, that the story we wrote last night ([personal profile] coffeesuperhero and I) got 256 kudos today.

So in lieu of actual information, it is time for this:

GIF PAAAAAAAAAAARTY )

I was just looking for soothing pictures of my future husband, James McAvoy, and then this:

(4:24:16 PM) sabinelagrande: WHAT IS THIS EVEN, HOW HAVE I STUMBLED INTO ALL THE BAD HAIR GALLERIES
(4:25:09 PM) coffeesuperhero: THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN AWESOME ART GALLERY
(4:25:18 PM) coffeesuperhero: JAMES MCAVOY'S BAD HAIR GALLERY
(4:25:24 PM) coffeesuperhero: GALLERY, A WORD I TYPED AS "BALLERY"
(4:25:38 PM) sabinelagrande: I WOULD GO TO JAMES MCAVOY'S BALLERY ANY DAY OF THE WEEK
Cont. )

You do know what's coming, don't you? Heh heh, coming )

This began completely... innocently is absolutely the wrong word. But it was not complicated. I was trying to write a description of this sexual position (NSFW), which is not a big deal.

And then everything got COMPLETELY out of hand.

(2:09:12 AM) sabinelagrande: (god, anatomy. I'm going to just draw a tiny picture and insert it into the text)
(2:10:41 AM) sabinelagrande: (I feel like I am describing this in the least sexy way possible, to boot)
(2:11:18 AM) dizmo: Ahahah.
(2:11:39 AM) sabinelagrande: stick figures. I'm going to do it with stick figures
(2:11:46 AM) sabinelagrande: WHERE IS MS PAINT I WILL ACTUALLY DO THIS
(2:12:14 AM) sabinelagrande: I WON'T EVEN USE PHOTOSHOP WE ARE ROLLING OLD SCHOOL
(2:12:24 AM) dizmo: SWEET.
The transcript, continued )

And now, the moment you've been waiting for, my grand masterpiece. Cut for naked stick figures )

This is why I will fail my comps.

PS: It didn't help.

I forgot to say! For those of you who don't follow Frenemy Cosplay (WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU), I have been out and about in my Dr. Orpheus costume on the internets!

Here I am peeking into a picture on io9 (I am almost literally falling into this picture- I'm holding onto a pillar). There's a better picture on LA Weekly, but the best one is from Mark of Venture Bros. Blog.

And then there's this!

So yeah, that happened.

Do you watch Venture Bros? Did you like The Tick? Do you have as much love in your heart as I do for Sheep in the Big City? Why then, you must love Jackson Publick!

Not content to share our love through the usual channels, [personal profile] arymabeth and I have set forth to bring you dueling picspams, so that you may see how awesome Jackson and Doc are. Her Doc Hammer picspam can be found here. But you came here for the wonder that is Mister Jackson Publick. )

So, what have we learned?

Pictures lovingly stolen from fuckyeahjacksonpublick, Tim Dorr, thekarpiuks, [livejournal.com profile] jacksonpublick hisself, [personal profile] arymabeth, and GIS.

I have been challenged! to bring forth a Tory picspam, in response to [personal profile] toft's very lovely, yet terribly Tory-free Mythbusters one. And yea, verily, I have brought it forth.

First, I feel like we need to be in the right spirit for Tory and his magnificence: Swearing, capslock )

Are we ready now? Okay. So very not slow-connection friendly )

Blake's 7 is a classic example of how science fiction should be done. It was darker and edgier before darker and edgier was played out, it's gripping and funny and cruel in places, it still stands up as a series despite the fact that it was made for twelve dollars in the late seventies- it pretty much kicks ass, is what I'm trying to say.

That being said, it has some of the most inexplicable fucking costuming I have ever seen.

There's a difference between cheap and inexplicable; Star Trek had cheap costumes that looked pretty okay, because everybody (I mean, aside from the aliens) wore pretty much the same thing. The costumes on Blake's 7 don't make any sense at all, and that's why they're hilarious enough that I have to share them with you.

[A few notes: The caps come from Series A and B, but you will find no plot spoilers in here (I mean, there's stuff from big scenes, I just haven't given any context), and I don't want any in the comments (spoilers make the baby Jesus cry). This is a picspam, so it is not particularly dial up friendly; and because this is Blake's 7, the quality of some of the screenshots is terrible.]

Take a drink every time someone adds 'space' to the beginning of a word for no reason! )

Preliminaries: This project took about seven to ten hours and cost about 8USD (would've been more, but I already had all the ribbon and thread). I only used two stitches for this project: Backstitch and a modified whipstitch (which I think is really more like an overcast stitch, but the difference seems academic to me). For my purposes, I'm going to assume you already know how to sew basic stitches, or that you can look it up on the internets. But fear not; felt is an incredibly forgiving fabric. There are a lot of steps, but this project is a cakewalk.

This post is image heavy; you may want to click here to view it in format=light. Again, horrible lighting in my house = blurry pictures. And I was drinking wine for a lot of this project didn't plan ahead, so there are like ten hojillion pictures of making pants and none of the hair or shirt making.

Let's plush! )

Interview from [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu! Many questions! )

Five words from [livejournal.com profile] yevgenie! Chekov, Atlantis, porn, crafts, home )

A very old cliff-marry-shag, what I found in a drawer random .txt, from [livejournal.com profile] telesilla! John Sheppard, Evan Lorne, Cameron Mitchell )

And because it's going around: Name a fandom, and I'll give you the scoop on at least three of my unpopular opinions related to that fandom.

And if you would like any words, interview questions, or people to cliff, marry, and shag, leave a comment!

Gentlemen, behold! [livejournal.com profile] arymabeth and I have brought forth cosplay.

This project came in at approx. 60 USD (plus some various shipping fees) for two complete jackets. We both did civilian tan; if you want to make military or admin, find+replace khaki with grey (the velcro is all black).

Let's go! )

I have no excuse for this post, except for lots of coffee and even more SG-1 episodes.

sabinelagrande: (sga - we're cool like that)
Apropos of nothing, here are a few pictures I took with my cell phone and forgot to post.

Who's got two thumbs and is a total geek? )

[livejournal.com profile] arymabeth and I are having a fantabulous weekend, even though we, uh, never actually made it to the con, us being way too goddamned lazy and the highway being partially closed. I have thoroughly corrupted her to the cause of SGA (Ronon gives her a little bit of a situation, it's true), just as I am slowly corrupting everyone I know.

Too bad I can't be this effective for shows that are actually, y'know, still on the air. Whatever, we're keeping the home fires burning.

And I may go to Dragon*Con? Because I was kinda halfway planning to anyway, because I've been trying to go for years and it's never worked out. But now it's only four hours away, and I don't have a broken foot this year. But dude, seriously? Why is Dragon*Con more expensive than SDCC (for which I need to buy my plane ticket today)?

1. My glasses finally broke this morning. )

2. Re: Comic-Con- [livejournal.com profile] commodoremarie, [livejournal.com profile] zhukora1, [livejournal.com profile] readiness, [livejournal.com profile] solarwind, et al.- I am definitely going to be at the LSA, so I will be staying (early afternoon?) Thursday to (late afternoon) Sunday. Don't worry- I've long since bought my 4-Day. I'm pretty sure I'll be taking a puddlejumper from San Francisco to San Diego, because it is the least of a pain in the ass.

2a. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE, it is time to plan costumes. What are you wearing?

2b. Teehee, puddlejumper.

3. [livejournal.com profile] coffeesuperhero: when do your exams end? I have a scheme. This is my scheming face.

4. I have no recollection of writing this up, and I don't know what to do with it, so here it is. It's a dream I had, which was remarkable for being the first and only dream I've ever had that was 1) in Nahuatl 2) SGA porn. )

5. Probably a long shot, but anybody going to MTAC? [livejournal.com profile] arymabeth and I will be there; I might even be able to get my Rally Vincent costume done before then (though it seems very doubtful, at this juncture). Unless, y'know, turns out it sucks, in which case we'll be at the bar.

We might be at the bar anyway.

It has been stated lately that Rodney is the only reason to watch SGA; this notion is patently false. To combat it, I present to you:
